Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control

Manufacturers of luxury watches usually undergo official chronometer testing in order to ensure the precision and accuracy of their timepieces. For Jaeger-LeCoultre however, these standard procedures simply do not make the cut. Jaeger-LeCoultre has developed its own test in which its timepieces are rigorously tested for 1000 hours and subject to intense scrutiny. The watches are tested for accuracy, resistance to temperature, air pressure, shocks, magnetic fields, and water resistance. Unlike the standard COSC-tests that luxury watches undergo, the Jaeger-LeCoultre “1000 Hours Control” test examines not only the watch movements but also the reliability of the watch when it comes to the entire functionality of all components.

Each individual watch from Jaeger-LeCoultre must pass this test before it can leave the Manufactory. Subsequently, all watches that pass the test are engraved with a “1000 Hours Control” seal. The first Master Control was presented in 1992 and continues to set a new benchmark for quality standards in the world of fine watchmaking.
