Over 60 years of Speedmaster, over 50 years of Moonwatch
The Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch was launched in 1957 as a racing chronograph, but NASA had other plans: only the Speedmaster passed the rigorous tests to find a mission watch for the coming missions in 1965. Four years later, a Speedmaster Professional was on the wrists of the Apollo 11 astronauts - those adventurers who set foot on the moon for the first time in human history.
Unmistakable style
The Biel-based company is fully aware of its responsibility for the stylistic continuity of its most famous model. For this reason, the Omega has hardly changed the Speedmaster Moonwatch in more than 60 years. The classic model is distinguished by a multitude of characteristics:
- White baton hands on black dial for perfect readability
- 3-6-9 chronograph arrangement
- Black aluminium tachymeter bezel
The very classic version of the Moonwatch also has a Hesalite crystal, which was also used by the Speedmasters of the Apollo astronauts. Also, there is a Moonwatch with sapphire crystal to choose from.
