A watch for connoisseurs and enthusiasts
With the luxury line Grand Seiko, the Seiko Group meets the highest standards. While the quality of workmanship is better than that of many Swiss manufacturers, the timepieces impress with their classic, characteristic appearance and perfectly finished movements.
Full diving watch
Grand Seiko presented the SBGA229 in 2008. The watch is a fully-fledged divers' watch that, with its unidirectional rotating bezel, anti-reflective sapphire crystal and water-resistance to 200 metres, is both a perfect everyday companion and an ideal tool watch for professional diving. The Manufacture has also succeeded in designing the Grand Seiko SBGA229 in such a way that, despite its reduced Diver Appearance, it is instantly recognisable as a Grand Seiko watch.
Spring-Drive calibre
Only Seiko and Grand Seiko offer watches with the specially designed Spring-Drive mechanism. Spring-Drive calibres are mechanical movements that generate their energy mechanically, but also have an electronic regulation system that stabilises the rate of the SBGA229 to +/- one second per day. These calibres thus combine the advantages of a quartz watch with the characteristics of a mechanical watch.
