A tribute to the SR-71
Black design, titanium, maximum performance: the Blackbird pays homage to the legendary Lockheed SR-71 military jet, which was made of titanium, could fly at Mach 3 and had the state-of-art stealth technology.
Minimalist Design, Maximum Performance
The Avenger Blackbird is part of the functional Avenger series known for its extraordinary robustness and reliability. It has a dark, urban appearance for excellent readability, which is guaranteed even in the dark thanks to the lush, luminous material. This maximum functionality is one of the most important characteristics of military watches, the function of which can make the difference between life and death in an emergency. The red accents - especially on the Breitling Avenger Blackbird 44 - ensure a successful, perfectly balanced contrast.
The simple appearance of the watch almost makes you forget that the Blackbird is a high-tech product - true to the Breitling motto "Instruments for Professionals":
The case is made of ultra-light, scratch-resistant titanium to keep it looking great longer.
The black DLC coating of titanium consists of a black DLC coating with a satin-brushed look.
The water resistance is up to 300 metres, so that even scuba diving is possible.
The Breitling Avenger Blackbird rubber strap is also high-tech thanks to the particularly durable and resistant fabric.
While the SR-71 made its debut in the 1960s, the current Breitling Blackbird models have been in the market since 2014, when the Breitling Avenger Blackbird 48 was presented. A year later, at Baselworld 2015, Breitling launched the four millimetres smaller Avenger Blackbird 44. Thanks to this small but elegant feature, one can easily distinguish the watch from one another: The Avenger Blackbird 44 has a date bordered in red. In contrast, the date border in the Breitling Avenger Blackbird 48 is held in a silver-tone.
